Monte Brento Exit Point 2025 Guide — Arco, Italy
Nestled beneath the soaring limestone cliffs of Monte Brento, our life in Arco has become a symphony of sun-drenched mornings, mountain air, and the raw thrill of flight. Once just one more small town waiting quietly on the shores of Lago di Garda, Arco has transformed into a playground for those of us taken by gravity and the vertical—and Monte Brento is its beating heart.
It always starts early, before the first light we'd get up.
Before the sun hits the limestone faces above Arco, we’re already moving, with Brento BASE Shuttle up to San Giovanni.
Monte Brento looms above us. Familiar, immense, magnetic. The Becco dell’Aquila, its iconic eagle-beak exit, waits patiently. Even when you’ve jumped it dozens of times, there’s always that flicker of nerves at the edge. A breath, a moment. Then: enjoying gravity.
Falling feels like remembering. A full-body prayer. The noise drops away, time bends, and for a few seconds it’s just you, the wall, and the sky. Every jump is both a return and a letting go. Hot or cold, I care about one thing in the mountains! Staying dry and comfortable. My biggest key to staying dry in the mountains is wearing merino underlayers! BRANWYN Merino is my number #1 choice!!
In between the 2 morning jumps, there's playful energy in the air. The Sarca Valley already humming with possibilities. A morning buzz at the Parete Zebrata café—an essential local institution—prompts us into the day. Here, jumpers from all over gather for espresso, weather chats, and friendly advice before heading up again. It’s an every day ritual that feels natural.

With 1200m of elevation, Monte Brento is a choice destination for jumpers and schools from all over the world. With an estimated 15000 jumps each year, Monte Brento is now the most popular exit point in the world. The magnificent overhanging wall is perfect for beginners and also for learning any of the BASE disciplines; it is considered a training location even for expert BASE jumpers.
After being used by jumpers most days for the last 2 decades, the rock has become worn and slippery - it is necessary to move carefully once on the exit, especially if it has been raining or snowing.
To reduce the risk of slipping they have installed a number of ropes to use when climbing down to the exit point. In addition, for the winter period there is a container of salt on the exit to be used to help clear the snow and ice.
Signing up with the Italian BASE Assosiation Membership isn't required anymore, but I HIGHLY reccomend it. The fees from the membership go into:
- Maintain the wind socks and exit point ropes
- Maintain the online weather stations
- Install radios at exit point and landing area
- Our goal is also to have a local jumper on site everyday to act as "ground control".
- Install signs at the main valley exit points
- Repair the damage to the Casale landing area
- Donate to the local mountain rescue

Afternoons at Lago di Cavedine
There’s a peaceful rhythm that we would we fall into, after the morning jumps. Time slowly stretches out into something slower. Softer.
After jumping, we often drive north, winding through vineyards until the green hush of Lago di Cavedine opens up in front of us—flat and still like glass. The lake sits in the cradle of pine-covered hills. It's always quieter here, tucked away from the climbing crowds and weekend cyclists of Garda.
We stretch out towels under the trees, and cook up something simple on our camping stove—eggs, mushroom, toast, some good cheese... Breakfast at 1 p.m. tastes better after a jump, like the body knows how to savor it more.
The heat builds around us, the lake shimmers, and books fall open on our chests before we drift into naps. The kind of naps that are deep and sun-drenched and wordless. Gravity of a different kind. Sometimes the wind picks up and you can hear the rigging of the windsurfers clinking in the distance. Other times, it’s just the buzz of bees and the occasional splash of a fish.
Even though I had spent a few weeks a year in this place, as a child... My first time BASE jumping in Monte Brento was in 2024. BASE Jumping Edit 2024 - Alenka Mali

Until the Next One
We never know how long we’ll stay in a place, but Arco has a way of making you linger. Maybe it’s the ease of the days, or the kindness of the land, or the way the wind comes down from the cliffs in the evening like it knows your name.
We’ll keep jumping, and swimming, and sleeping under the trees, until something else calls us forward.
