The Past Summer In BC, My Flight Back To Bali & The Beginning

It might’ve felt like a good time for one of those self-reflecting posts at the beginning of the month (or a good week in this gloomy September).

I did it again, the annual escape to Bali. No specific plan, except maybe the memories from last year, the urge to surf and see my friends or mostly the cheap life have “made” me book a flight to the Island Of Gods.

Two days ago, on September the 3rd, I have finally hopped on board and left the country with a surprisingly outstanding service of Air Canada. Not a fan of the homey airline, but this time they did well. I woke up in Brisbane 2 days after, one more flight after I was in Bali! I met my friend Sarah at the airport and we were on our way to Canggu, 5 minutes later!

Kinda surprised to be honest, that everything went smoothly.

Laying by the pool in our villa now has finally given me some time to completely relax and start making some plans for the next couple of weeks! To keep up with what I do, follow my adventures on Instagram for the daily updates!

The summer in BC was a blast. My family visiting the place I love and have been living in, the last 3 years was amazing. It was a good chance for me to show them all the places and reasons why I got stuck there in the first place.

Let’s be honest, playing a tourist in your own country is like the best thing ever!

I got a chance to teach my little brother how to surf, experienced the vibrant energy of the Crankworx events, I saw bears in Jasper, climbed by Lake Luise, drove on the most beautiful highway, got my mom to meet all my friends and climbed A LOT in Squamish!!

Grateful for the memories, yet stoked to make some new ones, being back in South East Asia. My priorities now are a bit different than last year. Since I already know the island and the people here, what I mostly want to focus on, is work! Well, surf & work. I have some projects coming up and I can’t wait to write more about those!

Here’s a reminder that my presets are still on SALE! Just another easy way to gain 5 awesome travel (one-click-filters) to make your photos look awesome instantly.

And here’s another friendly reminder that whatever you want to do in life, never ever hesitate to do it, just because other people tell you that isn’t a great idea, or because settling down and getting a real job is a better way to go. We learn things in life, by making mistakes. Not by listening to others 😉

That is, just in case you weren’t sure if something is right for you! Try it out, see how it goes, never chicken out just because of thinking, “What if….”

About Me

Hi, my name is Alenka and I’m a photographer, based in BC. As much as I love it back home, I travel a lot, throughout the year. I write about things that I’m passionate about, share the stories from my travels, talk about sustainable living and self-care!

Running my own business has taught me a lot, over the course of the last couple of years, as well as it has allowed me to travel extensively and work from anywhere in the world! I studied Integrative Nutrition at the institute in New York, which I’m happy to tell you more about if you reach out to me! I learned a lot about how to run my own business on helpful websites like SKILLSHARE and taking online courses on marketing, social media management and similar.
