Still Alive: The Beauty Of Loving Life & Appreciating The Day

We are here.

This video has been passed to me last months and after watching it, I have found myself shifting a certain perspective. We are alive. Breathing and functioning. We are present and we are here.

It completely changed the way I see things, first thing in the morning and last thing before going to bed at night. Funny, isn’t it?

Wonders happening. That was the first thing I saw in the title and I was like “Okay, yeah right… we’ll see about that, it’s not like I can see energies shifting or anything.” (which something I’ve always wished for btw)….

I watched the video. After the first couple of minutes, I loved the guy. His calm energy and the way he explained something so simple was very special. Interesting thing is, how we look at the world. We hold so much hate and anger when we think about disaster, mass shootings, school shootings, natural disasters like floods, earthquakes and similar. But what about the good stuff? How can we forget that we’re still alive? Still breathing. And so are our friends and family. The people who we are so close to.

Leaving our life in fear of what might happen and expectation of the worst – is really not the best thing any of us can do!

From day 1 we are taught to be careful. Cautious. Be aware. There might be a danger. Diseases and guns, the next time you open the door and head out to the world. That’s why we constantly hold a feeling of restriction and limitation. It’s keeping us from being creative and trying new things.

A good way to step out of that is by getting rid of all the abundance blocks from the past. Most of them, like fear, money blocks or relationship blocks come in our early ages from 1-6 and we don’t even realize we hold them.

The first step in making the most out of life is figuring out what you hope to accomplish. What is it you desire? Maybe you aspire to do satisfying work that will allow you to add value to the world. Looking for a fulfilling relationship that brings you joy. Maybe you want to become fit and healthy so you can be a positive example that your children can look up to. Knowing what you want will help you shift your subconscious in a direction that you need to go.

BREAK THE RULES

Why should we follow a list of rules without questioning their validity? We shouldn’t, as simple as that. Policies and procedures do have their place in large organizations where quality control and compliance must be considered, but you should make a habit of questioning everything. Rules are meant to be broken. How else do you think progress happens? Triggering an idea in your head must be a sign that you have to get it out and grow it!!

I remember this moody morning in May when my friends and I were supposed to go snowboarding in Whistler. They had been out the night before so they wouldn’t answer their calls until like noon or something. You can imagine how frustrated I was by then. So much that I sat down in front of my laptop and booked a flight to Santa Cruz. Last minute AIRBNB booking, made sure my plants will be watered while I’m gone and I was out the next morning! The rules are meant to be broken. If that means quitting your job or booking a last minute flight to California (which turned out to be one of the best decisions btw) – if it makes you happy, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t do it!!

STOP. AND BREATHE.

We are in such a hurry all the time. We shouldn’t be. The world will not end if you have to stand in line at the grocery store. Driving like a maniac to save two minutes does not make any sense. Exercise your patience muscles by choosing to stand in the longest line at the grocery store, leaving your house ten minutes early so you can drive to work at a leisurely pace, and allowing your dog to explore the outside world to its heart’s content. Taking your time will give you a much-needed break from the constant hustle of the daily grind. Breathe deeply, quiet your inner-chatter, and let the moment to simply be.
